This post is to express my grief and sympathy for the death of my Grandfather, Chief Red Eagle; Earl D. Hood of Florida. He passed away on April 26, 2011 from heart failure. Although I didn't know him very well, I am very sad that my children didn't get the opportunity to meet him! I remember the last time I saw him was when we traveled to the South for my Grandmother's funeral when I was only 14 or 15 years old. That was a really long time ago!
I guess the family gave him an Indian Burial, not the traditional one everyone thinks about where they place the body on an altar and burn it, I didn't get to go to the services, but Mom got a DVD of the ceremony. Rest in peace and God bless G-pa!
